Global success for Day 5 of the Crozon Foil Festival 2025 with an incredible Pumping Foil competition held at the Port of Morgat.

Crozon, France – October 18, 2025
This Saturday, the Port of Morgat proudly hosted the Crozon Foil Festival village, animated by a special edition of the Dock Start Pumping Foil contest. Among the athletes were top talents from Hawaii, the United States, Australia, Tahiti, and Europe — each bringing their unique style and technical expertise to the event.

Hundreds of spectators gathered along the Morgat harbor breakwater throughout the afternoon to witness the thrilling competition and enjoy the presence of local exhibitors and foil equipment stands. The event also provided an opportunity for the Crozon Foil Festival to spotlight its 2025 Partners Club, bringing together public institutions, local businesses of all sizes, and international brands

The competition was particularly intense, with over 40 heats where 4 to 5 riders launched themselves from adjacent docks in Morgat harbor, using small boards equipped with foils. Once in motion, the goal was to pump using leg power all the way to a buoy located 100 meters from the start — and return as fast as possible.
This race format offered the public a highly visual and explosive show, filled with intense sprints, dramatic comebacks, and spectacular wipeouts.

At the end of a thrilling day, Tahitians Axel Pham and Naumi Eychenn stood atop the podium, triumphing over strong competition from other continents.
Present throughout the event alongside the Mayor of Crozon, the President of the French Surfing Federation and the Brittany Surfing League gave an enthusiastic speech about the future of this growing surf discipline.

Amaury Dormet, Sports Director of the event, took the opportunity — in the presence of elected officials, partners, athletes, and the public — to announce next year’s edition, scheduled for October 13–18, 2026. The Crozon Foil Festival will conclude this Sunday, October 19, with the second round of its flagship event, the Downwind Foi, featuring a 20+ km ocean course across the Bay of Douarnenez — counting as the second leg of the sport’s global championship circuit.
